In the last week of November 2020, heavy rains were reported in most parts of Puntland as a result of tropical cyclone Gati; the heavy rains triggered flash-floods and broke riverbanks, flooding roads, IDPs camps and farmlands, including damaging houses, latrines, and water sources, ultimately impacting on thousands of people and displacing many from their homes and settlements.
As part of emergency response, PSA took part in inter-agency assessment that visited several villages that were affected by the floods in order to ascertain and assess the extent of the damage and the support needed, the assessment commenced from 27th November 2020 and so far they have visited Bargaal and Morocanyo districts.
