1. Background
Puntland Youth and Social Development Association (PSA) is local non-governmental, non- profit organization established in 2002 by a group of enthusiastic young educated members of society and it is based in Puntland state – Somalia
PSA is in a consortium with SIHUB in an initiative to support youth with business and start-upideas to achieve their dreams through providing technical support, training, guidance and mentorship.
The project’s objective is to equip the youth with entrepreneurial and start-up ideas with all necessary skills and knowledge that will put their ideas into practice and improve their entrepreneurial opportunities through providing them with an innovative training curricula.
Within the frame work of the PSA Business Development as one of Bosaso youth component, the organization seeks to fill the position of Business Development Consultant.
- Assignment Locations
Bosaso City is a business and port city in Puntland with more than 4 Universities, which churns out more than 1000 graduates every year, these youths face limited employment opportunities and those with business ideashave limited access to support and empowerment initiatives in funding and capacity training
3. Scope of Work for Consultancy Team
The consultancy will be expected to undertake the following-:
- Develop business plans with the assigned selected Youth
- Design and develop strategic development strategies and plans
- Provide assistance to selected Youth suggested plans and strategies
- Oversee and examine new strategy progress and development
- Educate, lead and supervise members of the business development team to ensure the project’s achievement
- Conduct complex analysis in order to find opportunities for the youth ideas
- Build, encourage and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders
- Create and present a detailed report for PSA & SIHUB
- Presentation of Business Training findings
The consultancy team shall prepare Training report by working closely with PSA/SIHUB team. The report will document findings and provide a benchmark for measuring outcomes of Project interventions as defined by the broader thematic areas required.
- Consultant
The consultant should meet the minimum requirements described. Key qualifications shall include:-
- Have a University degree
- Previous work undertaken in Business Development in Somalia,
- Experience in undertaking Business Training or similar Training in the past especially within Somalia.
- Knowledge in Business Development approach to programming.
4. Consultancy Duration
The consultancy will be for 10 days (01-11 December)
5. Rate of Payment
The daily rate of payment for consultant shall be a competitive one.
