Graduation ceremony for 70 Children Associated with Armed Forces

On 29th August 2019, PSA held its graduation ceremony for 70 Children Associated with Armed Forces and Groups (CAAFAG) Children at the PSA rehabilitation centre Garowe.

The trainees were conferred with certificates and awarded with start-up kits in recognition of their outstanding hard work and discipline. The 70 CAAFAG Children underwent a robust vocational skill training in various courses which comprised mechanical (mechanic and auto-electric), computer, tailoring and electricity including NFE classes comprising mathematics, Somali/English languages and Quran studies.

The 70 Children were part of the 134 beneficiaries of the 2019 CAAFAG project implemented by PSA in partnership with UNICEF, the project also comprised provision of interim care and reintegration services for children associated with Armed Forces and Groups (CAAFAG) Children .

The event was graced by officials from PSA, UNICEF, MOWDAFA, Parents, Puntland Parliament and Nugal Vocational skill centre, who  gave their speeches and encouraged the Children to use all the skills they have acquired in changing and improving their lives including the communities they come from.

The graduation celebration was truly a momentous event, well planned and attended; the closing remarks were given by various participants followed by the concluding remarks, as part of the event the trainees were also awarded with certificates and startup kits.
