GBV PREVENTION AND RESPONSE PROGRAM (Bari, Karkar & Nugaal regions)

In 2018, PSA in collaboration with UNHCR including MOWDAFA is implementing GBV PREVENTION AND RESPONSE PROJECT in three districts of Puntland, namely Bosaso, Gardho and Garowe, the project focuses on combating gender based violence against women, girls, boys and men in all IDPs camps and settlements in the three target districts.

 

The project aims to play an integral role in prevention and response interventions of GBVs, through engaging community dialogue sessions on such issues as protection, FGM, domestic violence, physical assault, rape/sexual abuse and early marriage.

 

The Overall Project objective is to reduce and mitigate all forms of GBV abuses against women and children in the target districts through community empowerment and sensitization.

 

Target Group: 90 % IDPs & 10% Host community

  1. Providing Medical Support for Survivors
  2. Provide psychosocial counseling for survivors
  3. Providing Dignity Kit for GBV Survivors
  4. Provide Life Saving Assistance (Food)

  1. Conduct advocacy interventions made on SGBV prevention and response
  2. Conduct Capacity build training for stakeholders
  3. Orientation & Refresher Training for GBV Case Workers on Case Management and Community Engagement
  4. Holding Commemoration of Women’s Day 8th March to Capitalize GBV Prevention
  5. Organize and Hold Sixteen days Activism in three target districts Through Mobilizations and Awareness
  6. Hold women to women Dialogue Sessions in SGBV Settlements to be Change Agent
  7. Hold Quarterly School Awareness Session Composing 1200 Students on GBV Prevention

 

Other activities:

  1. Print GBV advocacy materials (T-shirts, Leaflets, Posters)
  2. Produce Radio Message on Quarterly Basis to reach target 30,000 target beneficiaries as Attitude Change Purpose
