School awareness on GBV prevention -Bosaso

In April, PSA/UNHCR in collaboration with MOWDAFA held schools quarterly GBV awareness sessions that was conducted at Mohamed Cawale Secondary School Bosaso.

The event was attended by 401 Students (287 M & 114F), we used the session to sensitize and educate the students on the GBV Prevention and response mechanisms, we also informed them that they have a responsibility of educating and sensitizing other members of the society on the GBV response and protection, a role that will ensure the vice is totally eradicated in their own homes and community at large.

This kind of sessions have become essential and necessary due to the current high prevalence of GBV cases in the region, which comprise rapes, attempted rapes, physical assaults and other gender based violence meted mostly on girls and women.
